FINLAND`S STRONGEST COMPANY IS TEKNOWARE OY

Suomen Asiakastieto Oy has again selected the Province’s and Finland’s strongest companies. The 20 Province’s strongest companies and Finland’s strongest company have all obtained the highest possible Rating Alfa classification AAA from Suomen Asiakastieto Oy. The companies to be rewarded were selected from the SME sector, i.e. companies with the turnover of 2 – 50 million euros.

The selected companies have a very low risk to get payment default entries or go bankrupt even at difficult times. They have stabilised their operations and published their newest financial statements data. These enterprises are considered strong partners by their interest groups. Asiakastieto rewards the Province’s and Finland’s strongest companies now for the third time. The financial standing of companies rewarded in 2007 and 2008 is still very good, despite the recent recession.

13,8 percent of companies rated by Asiakastieto obtained the strong rating (AAA or AA+) in 2009. The shares vary distinctly according to provinces, towns, and lines of business. Of the provinces, clearly the biggest number of strong companies is found in Pohjanmaa (16,1 percent). The situation is the poorest in Lapland, where only 11,1 percent of companies were rated strong.

Of the principal lines of business, proportionally the highest number of strong companies is found in the real-estate business. Also companies in the financing and insurance lines are on average in a good condition. The accommodation and restaurant business has had the poorest success among the principal lines of business. Only 4,5 percent of companies operating in this line obtained the strong rating.

Teknoware Oy in Lahti was selected Finland’s Strongest in 2009. Teknoware Oy was founded in 1972, and it designs and manufactures interior lighting for buses, trains, and ambulances. In addition, it manufactures emergency lighting for buildings and ships. The company has grown significantly for several years already, reaching the turnover of close to 28 million euros in the financial year 2008. The growth has been achieved almost entirely by funds generated from operations without contracting a debt. The operation is established and highly profitable.
